UPDATE November 24, 2013: Laura hosts a special HAVEN writing retreat in Boston 12/6-10/13

The EYE first met acclaimed author Laura Munson at the More Reinvention Convention in 2011.  She was the star of the show as she discussed the story behind her first New York Times bestseller This is Not the Story You Think It Is. She has appeared here on the site, and shared a lively conversation with me on The Women’s Eye Radio Show.  But Laura is not one to rest on her laurels; she has now turned her own writing experience about facing a “crisis” into helping others do the same.

Laura Munson Haven RetreatLaura is now hosting “Haven Writing Retreats” literally in her own backyard.   She lives in Whitefish, Montana, a place she says has been “her best teacher” and is giving budding writers–and non-writers–a chance to experience it with her.  She says it’s a chance to find your own creative mojo and  “to meet you where you need to be met in the way of getting unstuck, breathing your writing alive, and re-purposing your life through creativity.”

And more good news. In between these instructional, “restorative vacations,” Laura says she is writing another book…this time, a novel. I can’t wait, but in the meantime,  I got the chance to talk with Laura this week via Skype to find out what we can learn on her retreats … see you in Montana!!!

Inspiration

Many times it takes enormous determination and courage in the face of fear and uncertainty. Leading is about passion. Stand up and do it if something needs changing.
