“I think we are being bombarded with information, but not necessarily knowledge. And so we think that a lot of the terms we hear are really important but not everyone understands whether or not they apply to them,” Catherine says.

She breaks down the meaning behind indexes like the Dow and the S&P 500. We talk about why it’s important to know how market indexes differ. 

Catherine also explains investment terms like stocks and bonds. She breaks down basic but important terms like volatility, returns and performance, risk and diversification. 

Plus, Catherine shares her best rules of thumb for determining how those terms can make a difference to your personal financial situation.
