Join host Stacey Gualandi and her guest Natali Germanotta Dolan on this episode of The Women’s Eye Podcast for a candid conversation with the fashion designer, entrepreneur and costumer to the stars!
Natali has spent her career at the intersection of fashion and performance. From collaborating with her sister Lady Gaga to building On Stage Essentials from the ground up, she brings a designer’s eye and an entertainer’s instinct to every piece she creates.

Now, Natali has several famous pieces under her belt, but there is one particular costume she designed for Lady Gaga’s 2022 Chromatica Ball Tour–a sequin-covered crimson and red organza look with muscle and tendon detail–that Natali says truly defines her work.
“I work in tandem with emotion, music, inspiration, images, and just the general idea and vibe of what we’re going for. I try to focus so much on the minute details. It’s really just a process and a journey that I go through. With that piece in particular, I felt like it awakened something for me that was more in line with my general style, as well as a designer.”

Together with her husband Alexander Dolan, she has since opened fashion house TOPO Studio in New York; On Stage Essentials in Las Vegas; and the new luxury fashion brand Natali Alexander. (As you can see above, we are twinning with their limited edition Lumina silk scarf. I’m wearing #48!)

I first met Natali last year at the opening of On Stage Essentials in Las Vegas, a one-stop shop for costume supply and custom design. They were instrumental in helping me with a showgirl costume I wore on my birthday in October. We reunited last November at the inaugural Vegas Fashion Week where her iconic feather boa showstopper closed out the show!

Natali says she’s come a long way from her early designing days, but admits it hasn’t always been an easy journey. She emphasizes that success will only come when you keep evolving.
“I see us going through a lot more hurdles, but we just keep growing and embracing, instead of being afraid of those hurdles. I think I spent a lot of my time being maybe nervous or unsure, because you don’t know what the next step is going to bring. You don’t know if all of this work is going to get you to the point that you want to be at.
But what you can know at the end of it is that you did as much work as possible. You put your heart and soul into it to the point where that’s it; that’s what you had, that’s what you gave. Whether or not it’s the outcome that you wanted, you still did it, and you get to look back at yourself and say, ‘Hey, that was pretty awesome.’”
