“Songs of Blood and Sword”
Fatima Bhutto has just had published a powerful tribute to her father in her new memoir, “Songs of Blood and Sword.” There is an exclusive excerpt available at the Daily Beast now describing the painful day of the execution of Mir Murtaza Bhutto in 1996.
There has been extraordinary violence in her family. Her grandfather was hanged and her aunt Benazir was assassinated in 2007 while running for office. She remembers that she cried for the next five days after hearing of her aunt’s murder even though she was campaigning for another party.
Fatima is still seeking justice for her father’s murder and speaks about it in this interview done by the BBC.
